I See the Future Through an Open Door #8

My series "I See the Future Through an Open Door" is an interpretation of a vision I had years ago.  I pictured an open door with bright light on the other side.  I felt if I walked through that door that my whole world would change, but I could never pass back through it again.  It was intriguing.  Several months later I was given the opportunity to move from Los Angeles to the Pacific Northwest.  It was a major leap of faith

for me, but I decided to go for it.  It was the right thing to do.  My whole life changed for the better, and I am a painter today because of that

door/decision.

This series combines realism and abstraction.  The images, aside from the figures, symbolize the doors/decisions we have before us in life.  Some are easy to see while others are more obscured or hidden.  For some, the opportunity has been ignored or passed by.  At other time, like me, the individual leaps or races for that opportunity.
